Big game, water fowl, upland game and rabbits are all in season in Inyo County. Do check the California Fish and Game Regulations before heading to the field. Enjoy the hunt and even if your bag is empty you will have had a great outdoor experience in an extraordinary area. The Owens Valley area with its Sierra Nevada and Inyo Mountain ranges provide big game hunting a a real outdoor experience. Don'f forget the Kingston Range and other areas in eatern Inyo for deer hunting. There you will have the solitude of pioneers. Bird hunting for doves, chucker and quail brings you out in the fall. Potholes and small lakes on the Owens Valley floor attract migrating ducks and geese in season. Cottontail season is a great time to bring the kids out for a hunting experience.
